Learning to Play Three-Card Poker

As mentioned, 3-card poker is really two games in one - Pairs Plus and Play-Ante. The player may bet on either one or both of the games, using the same or different amounts. Both games are based on classic poker hands consisting of three cards. There are charts that explain the possible hands in three-card poker, the number of combinations of each hand, and the probability of forming each of those hands. Pairs Plus is a simpler of the two 3-card-poker bets, with a payout for all hands that consist of a pair or better. For Play-Ante, the player places an ante bet before receiving his cards. He can then fold his cards and lose the ante bet or raise by placing a "play" bet of equal money to the ante bet. If he chooses to continue to play, there are then another three options open to him. The first is that the dealer does not have a hand of a queen or higher. In that case, the bet is returned. If the dealer does have a qualifying hand, the player wins if his hand is better than the dealer's (and he gets paid back even money on both his original ante bet and his play bet). If the dealer's hand out-ranks the player's hand, the dealer takes both the ante and play bets and the round is over.
